South Carolina lottery player wins big as she turned her $5 scratch-off ticket to $200,000 winning prize, multiple sources reported.
According to the winner, she was just trying her luck when she decided to buy $5 ‘Lucky Numbers’ scratch-off ticket. Her lucky place was Shree Food Mart on N. Highway 17, McClellanville.
After driving to the Lottery Claim Center in Columbia, the player expressed her gratitude for the win and her the life scholarship she received, which is paid for through the SC Education Lottery.
“Both mean so much,” she said. “I can save and prepare for the future and whatever comes next.”
Currently, there are three more top prizes of $200,000 in the ($5) Lucky Numbers game. The odds of winning the top prize sit at 1 in 750,000, as of Thursday.
Just like any other place, the store that sold the winning ticket received 1% commission for the winnings, which in this case is $2,000.
