Columbia state fair returns to in-person fair, the fair opens Wednesday and will run until October 24

Columbia, South Carolina – People are excited to see the Columbia state fair back again.

This state fair is coming back to in-person fair after it was organized as a drive-thru event last year due to pandemic.

According to the organizers, the state fair opens Wednesday and will run until October 24.

Locals are happy to see the event back since it offers different kinds of activities for everyone and it’s great opportunity to spend time with friends and family.

The officials with the state fair inform those interested that face masks or face coverings will be required during all times at the fair.

“The fair has always been clean. We’ve always been noted for our cleanliness of our grounds,” SC State Fair General Manager Nancy Smith said.

“But this year we have increased that, we have more hand sanitizing stations throughout the fairgrounds, we tried to implement a lot of more contactless options for purchasing your tickets and otherwise,” Smith added.

Officials say a mandatory clear bag policy will be in place and anyone younger than 18 must be with a parent to enter the fair after 5 p.m.
