Deputies with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office seek public help in locating a 34-year-old woman wanted for last week’s deadly shooting at Nexton apartment complex

Berkeley County, South Carolina – Deputies with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office are seeking the community’s help in locating the 34-year-old Jennifer Mae Todus wanted on a murder charge for the fatal shooting that took place at the Nexton apartment complex last week.

According to the incident report, the deadly Friday night shooting happened at the Isaac Apartments in the Nexton area.

Initially, deputies responded to the apartment complex following a disturbance call. Around 8 p.m., deputies responded again to the scene, this time in regards to a report of shots fired. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found a male victim with a gunshot wound. The victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was later identified as 20-year-old Caleb Mitchell of Summerville.

Deputies have a reason to believe that Todus was involved in the deadly shooting. Locals are told not to approach her if they see her in public because she is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information that might lead to Todus’ arrest is asked to immediately call 911 or the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office at 843-719-4412.

Once more details are available, we will update the case.
