Following a pursuit, police arrested one person in Berkeley County and seized cocaine and crack that the suspect tried to destroy while running from police

Berkeley County, South Carolina – Pursuit in Berkeley County resulted with one person arrested and cocaine and crack seized from the vehicle.

According to the local authorities’ announcement on Thursday, the suspect identified as the Terrell Oneil Wright was arrested following the chase.

Officers said that they saw a suspicious vehicle driven by Wright in the area of Harbour Lake Drive.

When deputies tried to stop the vehicle, the driver refused to stop and tried to flee to scene.

After a short chase, Wright stopped the vehicle in continued running on foot.

During the chase, the suspect had drugs with him which he tried to destroy while he was running. Luckily, the deputies were able to catch them with the drugs and arrested him.

The sheriff’s office recovered approximately 18.2 grams of cocaine and around 7.8 grams of crack.

Wright was charged with Failure to Stop for Blue Lights/Sirens, Evading Arrest, Trafficking Cocaine and Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine Base.
