Four-vehicle wreck on Interstate 26 on Monday night results with one person killed, ongoing investigation

Berkeley County, South Carolina – South Carolina Highway Patrol officially announced that one person was killed in the four-vehicle crash on Interstate 26 on Monday night.

According to the authorities, the incident took place on the westbound side of the interstate minutes before 7:30 p.m. Monday.

The incident report indicates that three vehicles were stopped in traffic around mile marker 205. While they were waiting in the traffic, a Ford F-150 struck one of the vehicles in the rear.

As a result of the heavy hit, the vehicle went forward striking the two other vehicles ahead that had been stopped.

Unfortunately, the driver of the vehicle that was initially hit by the pick-up truck died at the scene. The driver of the F-150 was unharmed in the incident.

South Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed there is ongoing investigation about the incident that should reveal what led to the crash.
