Friday night shooting on Elsey Drive in West Ashely results with one person shot in the leg, police report

Charleston, South Carolina – Friday night shooting in West Ashley results with one person shot in the leg, police say.

According to the incident report, deputies were dispatched at the scene in the 800 block of Elsey Drive before 11:30 p.m. following a 911 call in regards to a person shot.

When they arrived at the scene, they found one shooting victim suffering non-life-threatening injuries. According to the first responders, a person was shot in the leg while sitting on a porch.

The victim has been transferred to hospital for treatment as soon as the EMS crews arrived.

Authorities don’t know the identities of the suspects yet, but neighbors saw four people living the scene right after the shooting.

Nearby surveillance cameras are being checked by the authorities in an effort to identify the suspects as a part of the investigation about the shooting incident.
