Incident involving ‘distraught’ person closes part of King Street during the night and early morning hours

Charleston, South Carolina – Incident involving ‘distraught’ person closes a quarter-mile stretch of King Street during the night and early morning hours Wednesday.

First official police announcement came Tuesday around 9:30 p.m. that part of the King Street was closed between Carolina Street and Columbus Street. In the announcement, they said emergency personnel responded to a situation.

About hour and a half later, police said no one is injured. Dozens of police cars were seen on the scene, along with a few Ambulances from Charleston County EMS.

The exact location provided for the scene is 687 King Street, police said. The property hosts a liquor store and convenience shop, online records show.
