“It’s not that I want to, the country needs it,” Trump tells Hannity about running in 2024 Election

Donald Trump never ever explicitly confirmed whether he will run for president in the 2024 Election or not, but many agree that he will surely do everything in the upcoming period to gain the GOP support and become Republican candidate in 2024.

However, former President Donald Trump has told Fox News host Sean Hannity that he has made up his mind about whether he will run for president again in 2024. But, again, he declined to actually say whether he would launch yet another presidential campaign.

At a town hall event in Edinburg, Texas, Hannity said that he knows Trump won’t answer his question, but yet, he has to ask.

“I have to ask, where are you in the process of, — let me ask you this, without giving the answer … have you made up your mind?”

“Yes,” Trump said. The friendly audience applauded when they heard this response from Trump. “I think you got it right,” Hannity told the crowd.

In a Trump manner, he then clarified himself of what he meant with the response, leaving everyone without an explicit answer.

“It’s not that I want to,” Trump later clarified. “The country needs it. We have to take care of this country. It isn’t fun, fighting constantly, fighting always.”

Donald Trump still has great impact in the Republican party despite losing the latest Election. What is even more, many people still support it and that is shown throughout every single poll in the last couple of months.  Meanwhile, some GOP members are afraid that if he runs for president, it might potentially harm moderate Republican candidates running in state races.

Trump has been pretty active lately setting a base for a potential run in 2024. As New York Post reported, Trump addressed the annual Conservative Political Action Conference in Florida this past February and has held or is planning to hold campaign-style rallies in the battleground states of Florida, Georgia, Ohio and North Carolina.

Even before officially losing the Election in 2020, Trump announced that he is about to be defeated due to an unprecedented conspiracy of voter fraud. Trump repeated his claim even since in every single occasion even though more than 60 fraud claims were dismissed by the court because of lack of evidence.

Since losing the Election, former President faces pressure from everywhere, from Capitol riots in January to multiple legal actions and potential lawsuits against the Trump Organization. This tough situation for him was used by several GOP members like Illinois Representative Adam Kinzinger and Wyoming Representative Liz Cheney who tried to push Trump out of the GOP, but without success. They accused him to have anti-democratic influence on the party which might result with losing voters, support and slowing down the improvement of the party.

A recent poll showed that 66% of Republican voters would like to see Trump as Republican presidential candidate in 2024 Election despite losing last year’s Election. The support for Trump goes even further as the same poll found out that 85% of Republican voters agree that all future GOP candidates should follow Trump policies.

It seems that as long as Trump has the support of the voters, he is untouchable at the GOP.
