Late night crash in Florence fatal for one person, three injured and hospitalized, report

Florence, South Carolina – Late Saturday night accident in Florence sent three injured people to hospital for treatment while one person was killed.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the incident happened just before midnight around 11:50 p.m. Saturday in the area of Cale Yarbrough Highway and Cartersville Highway.

The report indicates that a 1987 Buick coupe was traveling north on Cale Yarbrough Highway when it struck a pickup truck that was disabled on the side of the road from a previous collision.

At the moment of the crash, three people were standing out next to the disabled truck. As a result of the hit, one person was killed while the others were injured.

The driver of the Buick was also injured in the crash. The driver and the two other injured victims were transferred to the nearby hospital for treatment.

No additional information about their condition was provided by the first responders.

SCHP is investigating with the assistance of the MAIT team.
