Majority of the secondary roads on Isle of Palms with reduced speed limit to only 25 mph for improved safety during summer season

Isle of Palms, South Carolina – Isle of Palms announced that on most secondary roads in the city, the speed limit is reduced to 25 mph.

The information was additionally confirmed by the local police department on Wednesday asking drivers to obey the traffic laws and drive responsibly.

Prior to the change, the speed limit was 30 mph.

The police also said new traffic signs with the new traffic limits were put along these roads.

The decision about reducing the speed limit on the secondary roads comes ahead of the summer season when traffic delays are everyday thing in the area. In an effort to avoid traffic delays due to increased traffic on the main roads, many drivers switch to secondary roads resulting with additional safety problems for both locals and tourists.
