One dead in early morning Monday crash in Orangeburg County, report

Orangeburg County, South Carolina – There is ongoing investigation about the early morning Monday fatal crash in Orangeburg County.

According to reports, the fatal crash occurred along US 301 near Lariat Road around 12:30 a.m.

Authorities said a driver was traveling south in the northbound lanes and struck another vehicle that was heading north in the correct lanes.

As a result of the collision, the wrong-way driver died on the scene, while the other driver was transferred in hospital for treatment. His condition is still unknown.

The police confirm that both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
