Pursuit ends up with overturned vehicle, suspect taken in hospital for treatment

Dorchester County, S. C. – Saturday night vehicle pursuit ended up with overturned vehicle and injured suspect taken in hospital in Dorchester County.

According to Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office, they received BOLO from the West Columbia Police Department for stolen vehicle in carjacking last seen heading to Dorchester County.

The vehicle was spotted around 4:30 near Harleyville by a patrol car and the pursuit started. The pursuit lasted almost an hour after unsuccessful felony traffic stop.

At one point the speeding cameras recorded 125 miles per hour on the interstate. The pursuit ended when the vehicle exited Exit 119 on I-95 driving too fast for the road conditions and overturned.

The suspect was injured and transferred to hospital for treatment.

There is open investigation about the incident.
