South Carolina budget includes raise for almost all state workers, no room for vaccination prizes

Columbia, South Carolina – The 2021 South Carolina budget worth almost $11 billion is almost finished after the South Carolina House has put its final touches on it.

According to officials, the budget will include raise in pay for teachers, law enforcement officers and nearly every state employee. The spending plan will start in July.

Furthermore, the budget includes fixing buildings at colleges and helps art centers and festivals hurt by social distancing. But there is no room for $1 million in prizes for those who received the Covid-19 vaccine.

The budget also excludes the $1,200 pandemic bonus for state employees making under $50,000.

The spending should be finalized next week.
