The 77-year-old man who shot his wife now faces upgraded charges

Georgetown, South Carolina – The 77-year-old man who shot his wife now faces upgraded charges, the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office said on Monday.

Monroe Mirray Cole shot his wife, Hazel Daniels, at their home on Handy Hill Drive, incident that took place on March 25.

Police arrested Cole right after the incident and he was charged with attempted murder.

Daniels was in hospital for treatment bur unfortunately died on April 9. Following her death, Cole’s charges have now been upgraded to murder.

He is currently being held in the Georgetown County Detention Center.
