The North Charleston police identified the victim killed in the weekend shooting

North Charleston, South Carolina – North Charleston Police Department identified the victim in the deadly Saturday shooting.

According to police, the victim in the deadly shooting was identified as the 18-year-old Javon Thomas.

The incident happened before 1:30 p.m. Saturday to the corner of Comstock Avenue and Cosmopolitan Avenue.

The department learned about the incident following a 911 call regarding shots fired in the area and male victim on the ground.

When first responders arrived at the scene, they located Thomas’ body and he was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the deputies with the Charleston County Coroner’s Office, the victim had died as a result of a single gunshot wound.

The case is under investigation. At this point, no arrests have been made regarding the incident.
