The rising number of Covid-19 cases and uncertain pandemic situation is forcing organizers to cancel events, now the Charleston Beer Fest postponed for next year

Charleston, South Carolina – The recent situation with the Covid-19 is surely making the life of the South Carolina residents more intense and insecure, something that was also seen with the previous Covid-19 waves.

People are not spending much time out of their homes, they don’t visit restaurants and bars, they are not seeing their family and friends very often as they are used to and all of these will probably not change until the number of cases start to go down.

The most recent information from Charleston is the canceling of the Charleston Beer Fest due to the high number of daily cases and the general Covid-19 situation in South Carolina.

The event was originally scheduled for Oct. 9 at Riverfront Park in North Charleston. However, due to the recent situation, the organizer of the event, Palmetto Community Care confirmed on Friday that event will be cancelled and postponed for October 2022.

“As a nonprofit organization focused on public health in our community, we cannot in good conscience hold this festival amidst the surge in COVID cases that are once again pushing the limits of our healthcare system,” Palmetto Community Care Executive Director Bradley Childs said.

According to them, everyone who bought a ticket for the event will receive a full refund and information on discounted beers with partner brewers as a thanks for their support.

As of now, all other events are expected to take place in the Lowcountry area.

As we already reported, another beer event will take place in October at a local John Island brewery.

The Oktoberfest event will be a weekend-long celebration and will be held at the Estuary Beans & Barley from October 1 to October 3. The Estuary Beans & Barley manager announced that the tickets will cost $25 and live music, a special mug, and a round of the brewery’s special Fest Beer will be included in the price.

Additionally, multiple food vendors will offer different kinds of food during the event.

Guests will have four chances to show off their best dirndls and lederhosen:

• Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
• Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., then again from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
• Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The first Estuary Beans & Barley Farmers Market will also be held on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
