The victim in the Monday’s morning house fire in Moncks Corner has been identified by the Berkeley County Chief Deputy Coroner

Moncks Corner, South Carolina – Multiple sources reported about the house fire incident that took place in Moncks Corner Monday morning, an incident that ended up to be fatal for one female victim.

Two days later, the Berkeley County Chief Deputy Coroner has identified the female victim as the 58-year-old Holly Ann Curtis, of Moncks Corner.

Curtis was found deceased in the home and she was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:55 a.m.

Even though there is a volunteer fire station a tenth of a mile away from the scene, along Highway 52 in the Santee Circle community where the mobile home fire happened, local residents allegedly said that it took a long time for firefighters to respond.

Once the crews arrived at the scene, they learned about the woman trapped inside the home. The mobile home was already on heavy fire and fire crews had to battle the flames, while several firefighters were trying to save the woman trapped inside.

The cause of the fire remains unknown. There is ongoing investigation which should reveal what led to the incident.

Once more details are available, we will update the case.
