Two vehicles involved in a head-on crash in Anderson County Tuesday morning, one person killed, incident report

Anderson County, South Carolina – Tuesday morning head-on crash resulted with one person dead, Anderson County Coroner’s Office confirmed.

According to the incident report, the fatal incident took place on Alliance Parkway, 3 miles north of Anderson around 10 a.m. Tuesday morning. Local authorities responded at the scene where two vehicles crashed into each other.

The coroner’s office says Conner Stephen Thorpe of Pelzer worked at an auto auction business across Interstate 85 from where the crash happened.

At the moment of the crash, Thorpe was test-driving a vehicle for possible auction. The incident occurred when for some reason he crossed the center line of the road and hit a vehicle driving in the opposite direction.

As a result of the crash, Thorpe died at the scene. The first responders confirmed that he was not wearing a seatbelt when the crash occurred.

The other driver, who was from Las Vegas, was wearing a seatbelt and he was transferred to hospital with injuries. No details about the extent of the injuries were provided by the EMS crews.

Thorpe was heading south in a 2016 Nissan SUV when he hit a northbound 2021 BMW sedan, troopers say.
