Weapon, marijuana and several other drugs seized in North Charleston Police Department drug raid, one arrested

Charleston, South Carolina – North Charleston Police officers with the help of Narcotic Unit seized several types of drugs worth tens of thousands of dollars on the street and several weapons while serving a search warrant on Thursday.

According to the report, this the list of drugs they seized:

  • marijuana – 887 grams
  • MDMA (Ecstasy) – 3,187 grams
  • cocaine – 230 grams
  • firearms – 5 pieces

Jerome Simmons, 31-year-old, was arrested and charged with one count each of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, MDMA and marijuana, and five counts of possessing a weapon during a violent crime.

Simmons is well known to the authorities as he has been arrested at least 14 times since 2010. At least seven times he was arrested involving illegal drug charges.

Simmons was out of jail on bond this Thursday awaiting trial for three separate incidents since 2018.

He remains jailed without bond.
