Woman shot in the chest and killed her minor son with deer rifle because she wanted to “send him to heaven,” charged

It looks like that not everyone enjoys the holidays like majority of the people and one of them is surely this monster mother who reportedly shot her minor son in the chest with deer rifle on Thanksgiving because she wanted to “send him to heaven.” She is now charged with murder and faces three decades in prison.

According to the incident report, the mother was identified as the 31-year-old M. A. Rosborough and she is accused of shooting to death her 6-year-old son with a .243 caliber deer rifle. The investigation report indicates that the minor was shot once in the chest area and he was taken to hospital by other family members even before the officers’ arrival. Shortly after he was admitted in the hospital, the boy was pronounced dead.

The mother allegedly tried to shoot her son at least one more time, but she was stopped by her brother who immediately rushed in the room where the suspect and her injured son were as soon as he heard the gunshots. She was reloading her rifle when the man rushed in the room, tackled her, preventing her from firing again.

Rosborough’s brother was holding the woman on the ground in their South Carolina home until the officers arrived. As soon as the officers arrived, the mother was arrested and charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. If convicted, the monster mother will face at least three decades to life behind bars.

About an hour before allegedly shooting her son, Rosborough reportedly shot a deer and the incident report said Rosborough allegedly said she wanted to “send her baby to heaven,” according to WBTV.

While at the scene, the authorities seized the weapon and ammunition. The rifle and the ammunition will be used as evidence in court. The name of the victim was not immediately released by the authorities because of his age, but he was later identified as J. Wise.

During the weekend court hearing, a judge denied bail for Rosborough, and she remained in the county jail. A spokesperson for the State Law Enforcement Division, told the Rock Hill Herald the agency is helping with the investigation into the 6-year-old’s death. SLED is required to investigate all non-natural death child fatalities in South Carolina under state law.

The motive behind the fatal shooting incident remains unknown. When questioned by the authorities, suspect’s brother said nothing indicated that Rosborough is going to shoot her son. According to him, that day was just like any other Thanksgiving as they were preparing for the family dinner.

“She was not a bad girl. She was sweet, and loves that boy. [Christmas] presents come in the mail every day that she ordered for him. She was trying to get help. We just didn’t know how bad her issues were,” Rosborough’s brother said. “[T]hat was not Amelia. That was not her. She was a loving daughter, sister, and mother. I can’t explain what happened.”
