Woman wrongly accuses Black teen for stealing her phone in a Manhattan hotel

Manhattan, New York – A video from a Manhattan hotel went viral after showing white woman attacking and accusing young 14-year-old black teenager later identified as Keyon of stealing her phone. The surveillance video was released by the NYPD police officials.

The incident happened in Arlo SoHo boutique hotel showing a woman physically attacking 14-year-old Keyon who was at the time together with his father.

Officer Harrison from NYPD tweeted that after reviewing the case, they can now confirm that the woman falsely accused an innocent 14-year-old teenager of stealing her cellphone. The police identified the woman and they now try to locate her.

It’s expected that she will be charged with assault and battery for having “attacked” Keyon.

The hotel management issued an official apology: “We’re deeply disheartened about the recent incident of baseless accusation, prejudice, and assault against an innocent guest of Arlo Hotel.”
