St. Helena Island, South Carolina – There is ongoing investigation about the early Sunday morning shooting on St. Helena Island that left two people injured, local authorities confirmed.
According to Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, near the Penn Center in the early morning hours on Sunday following a 911 call in regards to a shooting.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they found two shooting victims suffering from gunshot wounds and both have been transferred in the Beaufort Memorial Hospital for treatment.
There is no information about the extent of their injuries and their conditions.
Currently, there is ongoing investigation at the scene and portion of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive is closed for vehicles and residents. Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office asks everyone to avoid the area in the upcoming hours
At this point, there is no shooting suspect. No additional details were given by the authorities.
