Columbia, South Carolina – New proposal is considered by the lawmakers to prevent employers force workers to get vaccinated.
No one in the state can be forced to get the Covid-19 vaccine, says the Senate Medical Affairs committee resolution that passed Wednesday.
There will be some exception where workers are very exposed and vulnerable to the virus like hospitals.
Employers won’t be stopped in providing incentives for workers to get the vaccine. They can also require quarantine for employees that were exposed to the virus.
The proposal now heads to the full Senate for a vote.
