The 12-day-long SC State Fair ended Sunday, fair organizers say nearly 350,000 people visited the event this year

Due to the pandemic, SC State Fair last year was organized as a drive-thru event, a kind of event that understandably didn’t attract many people.

However, the fairgoers had an amazing opportunity this year to spend some quality time with their family and friends.

South Carolina State Fair was organized as a regular event this year and 348,701 guests visited the fair, officials confirmed on Sunday.

The 12-day-long event officially ended on Sunday.

“We could not be more pleased with this year’s fair after what has been a challenging year for everyone,” fair general manager Nancy Smith said in a news release.

“Lots of people understandably are continuing to make the decisions they think are best for their families, and the fact that we have remained South Carolina’s largest event says a lot about the significant value the fair holds for so many,” Smith added.

If everything goes as planned, the next SC State Fair will take place next year from Oct. 12-23.
