Charleston Veterans Day Parade canceled the event because of heavy rain expected on Saturday, announcement

Charleston, South Carolina – Charleston Veterans Day Parade was set to take place on Saturday in Charleston, but organizers canceled the event because heavy rain is expected in the area on Saturday.

According to Ralph H. Johnson VA Health Care System Director and CEO Scott Isaacks this has been a “difficult decision.”

“Every year we look forward to honoring our Lowcountry Veterans with the parade celebration,” he said. “However, this year, with the inclement weather, we must put the safety of our parade participants and community first and cancel the parade.”

As of now, there is no new date set when the event is going to take place in the upcoming period.

Initially, the parade was to have begun at noon at the corner of East Bay and Market Streets and continued to Colonial Lake.
