House fire in West Ashley Friday morning, no injuries reported

West Ashely, S.C. – Multiple fire crews were dispatched Friday morning to a house fire in West Ashley, the Charleston Fire Department confirmed.

According to the incident report, the fire was reported to the fire department around 9 a.m. and multiple crews were dispatched at the scene on Trailmore Drive.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, they immediately noticed that a smoke was coming from the inside of the home. While they were preparing to start extinguishing the fire, crews searched the area from both inside and outside the home looking for possible victims.

Investigators from the Fire Marshal Division say the fire originated from near the home’s HVAC system, but a specific cause has yet to be determined.

Luckily, no one was in the home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported in the incident.

The fire is under investigation. Once the cause of the fire is officially determined, we will update the story.
