Laurens, South Carolina – Families in need will find a helping hand on Tuesday, August 13 in Laurens as the next diaper drive-thru event is set to take place at the parking lot of Wattsville Drug situated at 24 Sirrine Street. This community-driven project, which will run from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, seeks to give parents and guardians free diapers and wipes, therefore offering necessary help.
Participants in the giveaway must present a photo ID of the parent or guardian together with accompanying evidence—birth certificates, WIC or Medicaid cards, or foster care documentation. With a household limit of two children each qualifying family is entitled to one pack of diapers and wipes for every child. Note that ID is needed just on the initial visit.
The Carolina Pregnancy Center (CPC) from Spartanburg will provide a key service to the event: its mobile unit will give free, private pregnancy testing and ultrasounds. These services are available to individuals who are at least 5 weeks but no more than 12 weeks pregnant, and who have missed their period by at least 5 days. It is said, nevertheless, that gender reveals will not be available for this occasion.
The community is also encouraged to support this cause through donations. Diaper and wipe contributions are particularly needed in larger sizes (5, 6, & 7) and pull-ups. This Diaper Drive-Thru is a critical part of the broader Upstate Pregnancy Center initiative, which is scheduled to grow with a new center soon to be built in Laurens County. Apart from giving families immediate comfort, this project creates a supportive community network meant to help its younger members in their early years of life.
