Two people beat homeless man in downtown Charleston, video of the incident found

Charleston, S. C. – Several people were recorded beating a homeless man in downtown Charleston. In the video taken by ABC News 4, two of the boys group beating a man lying on the ground.

A video taken in the middle of Columbus Street and Hanover Avenue shows a group of 6 people surrounding the man, with one person constantly beating him while he was lying on the ground.

In several parts of the video, another person is hitting the man lying helplessly on the ground.

The police answered the 911 call and the first police officer who arrived at the scene immediately helped the man and afterwards he transferred him to the nearest hospital. The man was found drunk.

According to police reports, the officer arrived at 7:29 p.m. on 80 Columbus Street.

Police found two surveillance footage showing two people first dragging the man, then leaving him and heading towards Hanover Street.

Police managed to identify a person and is in search of him. The man was identified as Johnathan Romain Montgomery-Coleman, 26, charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.
