22-year-old man is arrested and charged in connection to the late April drive-by shooting in North Charleston, police

North Charleston, South Carolina – North Charleston Police Department confirmed they arrested the suspect wanted in the late April drive-by shooting in North Charleston.

According to the department, the 22-year-old Gustavao Wright-Hills Jr. was arrested and charged for the incident that took place on April 26 in the Pepperhill area.

The suspect is accused of following a vehicle out of Generation X and firing into a vehicle occupied by the victim.

Following the incident, officers responded at the scene to the 3,000 block of Vinewood Drive to investigate a report of shots being fired.

The 22-year-old was arrested on Monday and now he faces several charges including attempted murder, discharging a firearm into a vehicle and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

He was being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
