Father and his three sons arrested and charged for the shooting incident early this month resulting with several people injured in Colleton County

Colleton County, South Carolina – A total of four people were arrested and charged regarding the shooting incident that happened on April 1st along Logan Farm Road in Colleton County leaving several people injured, authorities confirmed on Tuesday.

According to the authorities, the 56-year-old Melvin Lemacks and his three sons Louis, Zakery and Ellison aged 25, 19 and 17 respectively, were arrested and are now charged with five counts of attempted murder charges and one count of possession of a firearm during commission of a violent crime charge.

The arrest came days after the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office requested the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) to assists with the investigation.

The incident report indicates that the suspects stopped a vehicle along Logan Farm Road near their driveway in Walterboro. Then the group reportedly hit the vehicle with baseball bats several times before they opened fire on the car and disabling it.

Fortunately, the victims that were in the vehicle at the time of the attack managed to flee the scene and met the authorities shortly after. Four of them suffered gunshot wounds, but survived after being treated in hospital. One of the victims was not shot in the shooting incident.

The father and his three sons later turned themselves in and identified themselves as the shooters in this incident. All four of them were taken at the Colleton County Detention Center.
