Charleston, South Carolina – Gas prices in South Carolina has risen for 5 cents per gallon in the past week.
According to GasBuddy, the average price across the state is sitting at $2.66 per gallon Monday.
Compared to same period last year, gas prices are higher for $1.07 per gallon. Compared to last month, prices are higher for 7 cents.
The cheapest station in Palmetto State was selling a gallon for $2.43 per, while the most expensive gas was selling for $3.01 per gallon.
The national average has risen for 4.5 cents in the same period, now averaging $2.95 per gallon. Compared to last month, the national average is now higher for flat 10 cents and compared to last year same period prices are higher for $1.12 per gallon.
Authorities expect the prices to go up in the upcoming period as a result of increase in demand.
