Johns Island, South Carolina – The Major Accident Investigation Team of the Charleston Police Department is now looking into an accident that occurred on Friday afternoon and resulted in the death of one individual.
The Charleston Police Department reported that the accident occurred at about 12:51 p.m. on River Road on Johns Island when a Kenworth dump truck crashed with a Ford F-150.
According to the report, the accident left both drivers with minor injuries, but a passenger in the Ford died.
While crews were clearing the scene of the crash, River Road remained closed to traffic between Murraywood Road and Brownswood Road until approximately 5:30 p.m.
The Charleston Police Department said that the investigation is still ongoing and no charges have been filed yet.
