Shooting near a gas station in Ridgeland leaves one injured, police report

RIDGELAND, S.C. – Saturday night shooting near a gas station in Ridgeland ends up with one person injured according to police.

The police reports say that the shooting occurred around 7:15 p.m. on Saturday in the area of the Star Point BP and followed the suspect’s vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on US 17 north.

Police officers reportedly followed the suspect’s vehicle until it ran out of gas reaching Rice Shire Road.

The police arrested two suspects, 23-year-old Malik Jamal Bostick and 19-year-old Kira Denaisha Alexander both from Ridgeland. Police officers also found two weapons in the car.

The identity of the victim was not immediately released. According to police reports, the person suffered sustained serious injuries and his condition was critical. He was shot two times, once in the head and once in the leg.

Malik Jamal Bostick has been charged with two counts of Attempted Murder, two counts of possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and failure to stop for blue lights and siren, police said.

The investigation about the case is open. Police added the suspect may face addition charges in the upcoming days.
