The westbound side of I-26 near Summerville that was closed due to crash early Thursday morning is now re-opened

Summerville, South Carolina – Early morning crash on I-26 near Summerville caused a lot of problems for daily commuters this morning due to a crash that blocked all westbound lanes.

However, as of around 9:30 a.m., one lane was re-opened and drivers were no longer required to use alternative routes.

Previously, several sources reported the crash that happened around 8:30 a.m. near mile marker 199, the exit for U.S. 17A. Due to the crash, all westbound lanes were closed, which eventually resulted in a long backup.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers that responded to the scene confirmed that the scene was completely cleared and all lanes were re-opened just after 11 a.m.

No injuries were reported in the accident.
