Woman accused of murder that took place in January 2020 was arrested by police in West Ashley, bond hearing scheduled Thursday

Charleston, South Carolina – The 23-year-old Kristen Diann Dyches of Ridgeville believed to be responsible for a murder that took place in January 2020 was finally arrested, police confirmed.

According to them, the main suspect in the case was arrested in West Ashely, almost two years after the incident.

Previously, authorities arrested the 22-year-old Erica Grooms on August 13, 2021, in a connection to the case.

The investigation happened on Jan. 16, 2020 when officers responded to the 100 block of Toura Lane for an injured person. When officers arrived at the scene, they found dead body later identified as Seth Coleman.

“CPD Detectives responded to the scene and began investigating the incident,” Charleston police officials said. “The death was ruled a homicide by the Charleston County Coroner’s Office.”

The 23-year-old is being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center and she has her bond hearing scheduled for Thursday.

The investigation about the case will continue in the upcoming period.
