Florida husband allegedly makes his 20 years younger girlfriend hire someone to kill his wife in their home, claiming they will split wife’s life insurance policy

Police officers arrested the couple, husband and his girlfriend, after a month-long investigation regarding the death of his wife in her home in Jacksonville, Florida.

Both of them are now charged with second-degree murder in the alleged killing of the man’s wife.

Jerry and his 20 years younger girlfriend Amanda, were arrested after Jacksonville Sheriff’s deputies conducted a nearly month-long investigation following the discovery of Jerry’s deceased wife in her home, according to a statement released by the sheriff’s office.

Jerry allegedly offered his girlfriend “$6,000 to transport individuals to the victim’s residence and commit the murder,” which he allegedly intended to stage like a burglary. He also allegedly offered to pay his girlfriend, Amanda, half from the victim’s life insurance policy, the statement says.

Police were called to the victim’s residence where they found man’s wife with injuries related to a stabbing. At the time, her husband was allegedly working about three hours away. But investigators allege Amanda was near the crime scene on the morning of the murder, officials state.

Investigators say the crime is an active murder investigation and expect to make additional arrests.

“We do believe that other individuals are involved and further arrests are imminent,” officials stated.
