Man shoots pregnant girlfriend in the back at a family party, kills her and the unborn baby in front of a crowd including several small children

According to police report, the 37-year-old man was arrested and now faces multiple charges for shooting his pregnant girlfriend in the back at a family gathering killing her, and the unborn baby. The baby was delivered, but despite the efforts from medical staff, the baby died.

The incident occurred earlier this month when the suspect, later identified as Antonio W., approached the victim from behind and shot her twice in the back and in the head. The shooting happened at a family party where multiple witnesses, including several children, saw the shooting happen. The police said

Antonio’s girlfriend, identified as 31-year-old Michelle McDonald, was shot to death at the scene. She was 8 ½ months pregnant at the moment and she was immediately transferred to hospital where her baby was delivered right after the shooting. However, despite doctors’ effort, the baby died.

“This woman was executed by Antonio, knowing she was 8 ½ months pregnant. She was treated like garbage and so was the baby. This is pathetic, unacceptable, and obscene,” Prosecutor Joe Deters said. “I am devastated for this family. I cannot even imagine the gut-wrenching pain this loss has caused.”

Michelle’s family relatives said that Antonio was the father of the baby and they were in a relationship. No one really knows what was the motive for the fatal shooting.

“Unfortunately, the life lead by Wilcox is becoming more common and acceptable. This would have been his fourth child with four different women. DNA testing is still pending on Aaliyah,” Deters said.

Antonio was arrested and held in jail on a $250,000 bond.

He faces multiple charges for killing both the woman and the unborn baby including one count of aggravated murder, one count of murder, one count of felonious assault, one count of involuntary manslaughter and having weapons under disability.

If found guilty, Antonio will be sentenced to life in prison.

“This is a tragic loss of life. My office will do everything in our power to deliver justice to the victims’ family,” Deters said.
